A big challenge has been learning how to make the objects move on a 3D plane and take on their own life. The image above is from my favorite early project. The video combines two boxes coming apart and then back together at different rates. The network is audio-reactive, and responds to an audio file of footsteps on leaves. I enjoy the contrast between the subtle, ambient, natural sound and the artificial, vibrant, and sharp visuals. I like to think that the image is a visual representation of someone\u2019s internal stream of consciousness as they go for a walk in the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/MmfngrGj_L_9ziyuHmpmPQ2wqbjI1Qz2kYpzSrESf864dABJ-yKR6O2q5M-EGtVK67aNu2cWpz96huG2NPZ-lsXR7M0_-MNwvKrK7WxR1GwiPcM9tFdfXDEL49Wy5RF4pBZwv4hAsjRZu2otgnjMDCw\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:560px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Above is the full network of this video. I started by creating the two boxes and adjusting their sizes and relative positions, as well as their movement, or \u201cnoise\u201d. After merging them and going through the geometry patch, I added an edge, as well as a colored background, and then used \u201cfeedback edge\u201d to create the glow and color-changes. I really like \u201cfeedback edge\u201d because I think it adds a sense of atmospheric resistance to the object. It allows the boxes to interact with their surroundings, which would otherwise be a solid wall. This sense of colorful flow contrasts with the sharp edges of the boxes, as well as its erratic motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">In terms of color, \u201cfeedback edge\u201d has a bit of a mind of its own, but I tried to lean toward soft colors. I have been enjoying creating soft and cute images. I feel accomplished when I am able to make something that I find pretty.
