Everything is always in relation however to what extent do we abandon representationalist observer x observed relationships. This sonic landscape aims to highlight unrecognised relations.

I created this space because I wanted the relationships between matter to be investigated. This project feels like the subconscious of duality to me. The purple represents technology, and the green represents nature. There are three different tracks and three different sound designs in this project.
The first sound, “Introduction to Shapeshifting,” belongs to the first planet. As we move further away, the second track, “Artist x AI,” is heard, and at the maximum zoom-out, the third track, “Piano for Lovers,” is present. These have been coded so that the sounds slowly fade away as we move away from their source, creating a blend and an obvious connection between them.
When the stars and stripes collide, a glitch sound is generated. When the green flashing planet is on camera, a telephone-like sound is generated, and when the green oval-shaped planet is present, another weird sound is heard. (All the music and sound designs used for this project were created by me.)
There is also audio reactivity in this project. During lower tones, the lights are green, and as the frequency gets higher, the hue shifts toward purple. I wanted the pitch of my voice to control the hue as I do a lot of live singing during my performances. This project was created for live sets. I connected it to Ableton Live to control the Z position of the camera, assigning it to a knob in Ableton to change the zoom during performances. I also created an audio effect rack to manipulate reverb, delay, and frequency filters. Additionally, I integrated Syphon so I could use projection mapping through TouchDesigner.
class MotivationMatterAndMeaning {
I wanted to create a project that I could use during my live performances. This project is my first step in creating audiovisual immersive simulations. I wanted to explore duality, relationships, and delusions, and this space gave me a chance to represent those concepts. It feels significant because it was the first time I successfully created an environment where sound, visuals, and interactivity come together cohesively.
class DreadAndExistentialAngst {
My process was full of dread, anguish, and anxiety, but the moments when I achieved what I envisioned brought me immense joy. My biggest enemy was myself as I was battling with indecision and prediction agendas. (as you can see from my notebook) I think I unlocked true immersion when I stopped treating Processing as Ableton, Blender, or TouchDesigner.
I spent a significant amount of time experimenting, and over half of the time on this project was trying things that I ended up not liking. I started by breaking down the “Space Junk” library in Processing, which helped me understand how to build the foundation.
After breaking that down, I began writing my code and restarted it 3-5 times. I began by coding the stars and stripes. After a long day of experimentation, I had two happy accidents that resulted in the first planet and “Mr. Worm Guy.” Once all the objects were in place, I used Minim to import the tracks I had been working on. After that, I integrated the project with Ableton and TouchDesigner to achieve the full audiovisual setup.
class Delusions {
This project symbolizes duality for me, blending technology and nature through sound and visuals. It’s a space that reflects the subconscious relationships between different elements, showing how they interact and influence one another.
It feels like a personal milestone because it marks my first time creating such an immersive environment. It’s more than a project—it’s a step into the unknown, where I can explore and push the boundaries of audiovisual storytelling and live performance.
